![]() Now, I don't know to what extent Clare was involved in the writing processed of each story, as she is listed as one of the authors of every story - did she help develop the plot of each story, even actually write parts of the story or is she just credited as an author because the characters were invented by her? However, I never felt out of touch with the universe, so Sarah Rees Brennan and Maureen Johnson definitely know Clare's novels very well. However, you don't miss out content- or plotwise if you don't read The Bane Chronicles, making it great supplemental content. Avid readers of Clare's novels will enjoy these short stories because they give backstories to a very interesting character. ![]() Some of these have been mentioned in offhand comments in Clare's other works, like the first short story, "What really happened in Peru". It follows Magnus Bane through various adventures that he has had throughout his life.
